A series of rust hotspot maps have been developed by applying geostatistical methods on the extensive rust field survey database. The techniques being used include Hot Spot Analysis using Getis-Ord Gi statistics and Kernal Density mapping. Example maps are shown below using Kernal Density mapping for stem rust and yellow rust. These maps probably represent the first instances that rust hotspot maps have been developed at such a wide geographical scale. Updated and refined versions of the hotspot maps will be made available soon.
